I do not have a problem with breaking/bending my derailleur or hangers. I am fine with whatever way they go as I am a Sram guy anyway. 
Yeah, that's what we thought too. It looks like it should be much easier to get the speed needed to clear it. I shortened up the lander just a hair and made it smoother as well.
There is a lot that can be done at WR as far as maintenance goes. 
Shoot, I will not be able to this weekend...
